Atletico do not want to sell £130m-rated Alvarez
Atletico Madrid do not want to sell Julian Alvarez this summer amid interest from Arsenal, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Even if the forward asked to leave, Atletico value Alvarez at around £130m (€150m) after signing him from Manchester City for £82m.
The Argentina international is focused on winning the Champions League with Atletico and then the World Cup with his country.
A source close to the situation has indicated Alvarez’s preference – if he were to leave Atletico – would be joining Barcelona.
However, other sources in Spain have cast doubt on whether he has a preference at all given the unlikelihood of a transfer this summer.
The former Manchester City striker has had an outstanding season for Atletico, scoring 19 goals in all competitions so far.
His current head coach Diego Simeone revealed the interest of the three clubs in his news conference today ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Arsenal.
