Fulham: Silver future not dependent on European spot

Silva: My future not dependent on European spot

Marco Silva says his future at Fulham is not dependent on qualifying for Europe and he is not paying attention to reports linking him with Chelsea.

Silva’s contract at Craven Cottage expires this summer and he has not made a decision on a new deal.

Fulham are two points behind sixth-placed Brighton, but securing a European spot wouldn't guarantee Silva staying.

“Nothing is going to affect or not affect,” he said.

“It would be a decision that I and the club are going to take together.

“Many things are there. We are completely on the same page and aligned with what will be necessary for the club for the future. The future of the club is always there."

Chelsea are looking for a new head coach with Silva reportedly in the frame although he is not interested in the rumours.

"I'm not going to make any comments on it at all because it doesn't make sense right now," he said. "All the focus is on the games that we have to play."
