Keane extends Everton deal

Michael Keane has extended his Everton deal by a year, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.

The centre-back has made 259 appearances for Everton since joining from Burnley in 2017. 223 of those outings have been in the Premier League - placing him joint-14th on the club's all-time list.

The 33-year-old has scored 19 times for the Toffees, as well earning nine of his 12 England caps while on Merseyside.

He has also played an important role in Everton's season of progress under boss David Moyes, making 30 appearances across all competitions.

Keane told evertontv: "The club means a lot. It's one of those things that's easy to say, but it has become part of me.

"It's who I am and it feels like family to me – the people around the club, the fans, the players, the staff. So it's really special to me and I couldn't really imagine my life without Everton.

"I think it's been a great season for me personally. I’ve played a lot of football - probably more than I expected  - and I feel like I've done well and I’ve absolutely loved it."
